Let’s talk about the unspoken, unadmitted wishes of society. The ones that come below “world peace”, “no hunger or poverty”, “the end of disease”, and “less polarizing politics”, down where we have “ice cream that tightens your abs” and “lung-healing cigarettes” – both likely high on the unspoken list, I’m sure you’ll agree.
One of the ideas on that part of the list might be “non-alcoholic drinks that still ‘feel’ like alcoholic drinks”.
I don’t think I’m going too far out on a limb with that one. If someone can make a mixer that tastes good and makes you feel a bit buzzed but won’t damage your system like alcohol, that’s a company with a big future, right?
Well, guess what: last week’s announcement from Cannabis Global, Inc. (OTCMKTS:CBGL), a leading cannabinoid products company, may represent precisely that. It’s at least worthy of a very close look.
The Holy Grail?
Cannabis Global, Inc. (OTCMKTS:CBGL), formerly trading as MCTC Holdings, Inc. (OTCMKTS:MCTC), announced last week its venture into the alcohol substitute mixing space. According to its recent release, Hemp You Can Feel™ mixers are now available for online consumer purchase as well as bulk purchase for wholesale distribution. Cocktails based on the Hemp You Can Feel™ mixers provide an experience on par with light alcohol consumption, but without any of the harmful side effects of alcohol.
There’s the big point: this is a CBD-infusion product that provides “an experience on par with light alcohol consumption, but without any of the harmful side effects of alcohol.”
The holy grail, if it works.
“Because of the ultra-low levels of hemp extracts utilized, we feel we set a new standard for product-safety and satisfaction in the hemp food and beverage category with this product,” commented Arman Tabatabaei, CEO of Cannabis Global. “While our Hemp You Can Feel™ beverages likely have the lowest hemp extract levels in the industry, we believe we provide a vastly superior positive effect upon use. We invite all consumers and alcohol industry participants to try what we see as the first viable alternative to alcoholic beverages. Our website is www.HempYouCanFeel.com. Take the HempYouCanFeel Challenge!”
Cannabis Global Inc (OTCMKTS:CBGL) believes the use of Hemp You Can Feel™ is significantly safer than the consumption of other hemp-based or high-cannabidiol (CBD) based beverages. Because of the natural water solubility of the preparations, only a minuscule amount of hemp extracts is present in the cocktail mixers. Laboratory analysis and results by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) indicated the presence of hemp extracts in the non-detectable category.
Have Your Cake and Eat it Too?
As noted by the CDC, over time, excessive alcohol use can lead to the development of chronic diseases and other serious problems including: High blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, liver disease, and digestive problems. Cancer of the breast, mouth, throat, esophagus, liver, and colon.
Not a fun list. But, let’s face it: people drink it anyways. Because it makes you feel good – it pushes off the stress that hammers down upon us each day to have a cocktail in the evening, it lightens up a social context and gets the extraversion juices flowing, and most of us have an association with that light buzz that is tied with a lot of good times and memories. All of that reinforces the “habit” of alcohol.
People who drink aren’t suicidal. We are simply “okay” about the trade-off as we perceive it. Sure, life may be a bit shorter – hopefully not too much! – but better along the way. That’s life in the developed world where alcohol is an established cultural norm.
However, that trade-off is certainly not “the good part”. The “good part” is definitely the light buzz with some friends on a Friday afternoon. The liver disease we can do without.
In other words, we would all prefer the good part without the bad. That’s exactly what CBGL’s ambition is here.
Note that this is a company that has some chops in the R&D department. The company has established high-level IP, including a number of provisional patents in process with the USPTO for nano-infusion and safe commercial-grade harvesting of exotic cannabinoids. So, this is not a tire company telling you it has a new brain pill. This is up their alley according to publicly available information.
Cannabis Global Inc (OTCMKTS:CBGL) is extremely cheap, likely because most people haven’t ever heard of it, suggesting some upside potential as word spreads on the new product release.
